Born and raised in the Mid-South area, Summer has always had a knack for organization and order. As the first born in her family, her natural instinct was to “mother” (or as her little brother called it “being bossy”). She has always had a natural talent for organizing and made sure everything was in order and in place. Summer attended high school at SBEC (now Northpoint Christian) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and concentration in Public Relations from the University of Memphis. Go Tigers Go!

During her college years she won a Student VOX award for a project she coordinated with the Mid-South Better Business Bureau. She also worked for the DeSoto County Circuit Clerk’s Office, but after graduation she felt she needed to venture out and get a job in her field. She was hired by the Memphis RiverKings/Xplorers Arena Football teams in Southaven as a Community Relations Representative. Her time with the hockey and arena football teams were years of learning, growing and fun. Every day was different and had its own challenges but not a day or task was the same. From making sure the players behaved at school functions to organizing events with fans and staff, Summer’s job was to make sure everyone had a fun time! This is where she was able to be creative with her events and tasks assigned.

After three seasons with the organization, Summer landed a job as a Marketing Director and Corporate Event planner for a local Fortune 500 company. She was faced with new challenges and expectations. Being in the corporate world is different than the sports industry, and Summer quickly had to learn corporate event planning and marketing for a new industry that was not familiar to her. Her job requires her to be extremely detailed, organized, and a macro and micro level thinker who can keep people on task. From planning seminars all over the United States to organizing the company Christmas party, Summer is always ready for a challenge. She has had her hand in event planning for 15+ years.
